Town of New Paltz

Located in the scenic Wallkill River Valley, New Paltz is a state college town with numerous unique shops and restaurants. Just north of Main Street sits a fascinating historic district of stone houses built by Huguenots between 1692 and 1712. Called "the oldest street in America with its original houses," Huguenot Street includes such structures as the Jean Hasbrouck House, a fine example of Flemish stone architecture.
