Hither Hills State Park
The park offers scenic picnic areas and fireplaces, sport fishing, a sandy ocean beach, fields, a playground and a 168-site oceanfront campground. Anglers can fish year-round and obtain permits to fish at night. The unique "walking dunes" of Napeague Harbor are on the eastern boundary of the park, which also has woodlands with Russian olive, oak, shad and pine trees. The Hamptons
New York City's vacation playground offers fabulous ocean and bay beaches, great fishing and fine restaurants. From Westhampton to East Hampton, you'll also be hit with high prices, crowded public beaches on summer weekends and limited short-term lodging (lodging in Hampton Bays may be the least expensive).
