For years, Wellfleet's restaurant offerings catered to families coming to summer on the Cape and in search of inexpensive food based on local seafood traditions, such as fried claims and raw shellfish. First with the arrival of PB's and now Ceraldi, Wellfleet's standards are rising. People rave about the Ceraldi experience, animated by chef Michael Ceraldi, who creates a different seven-course menu each night, always based on the season's locally sourced and sometimes foraged ingredients. With an open kitchen, the chef makes it a point to explain the menu to his guests, where all diners in effect sit at the chef’s table. Almost any food allergy is accommodated. There is one drawback: the prix fix menu with drinks there is about $100 per person.
